N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Pipestem Dam Manager Bob Martin reports that they’ve made some adjustments to their releases at both Pipestem Dam and Jamestown Reservoir on Thursday.
According to Martin, Pipestem Dam will be increased from 0 cubic feet per second (cfs) to 200 cfs. Jamestown Reservoir will be decreased as a result by 200 cfs, keeping the current releases at 650 cfs.
Martin says once flood storage is down, the releases will be adjusted accordingly. Martin pointed out that right now, flood storage is up in both locations.
Martin reports that they have until September to get the flood storage down. He says that the Jamestown Reservoir, which may look low to some individuals, is actually right about where they want it.
Current outflows and inflows may be adjusted throughout the summer.
