CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A fire burned seven power poles southeast of Valley City on May 31st.

Valley City Rural Fire District Chief Gary Retterath said two were so badly damaged that rural residents lost power after the fire damaged the power poles.

Retterath said a controlled burn got away from a land owner about 2 miles south of I-94 near the Peak Road and a mile and a half east along 36th Street Southeast of Valley City.

Meanwhile, a farm implement knocked down a power pole near Rogers, North Dakota on June 1st.

Nearly 350 Cass County Electric Customers were without power in and around the Rogers area for a few hours on June 1st.
