(NewsDakota.com) The Dickey County Emergency Manager says he is planning to implement burn ban procedures for the upcoming summer season.
Charlie Russell says he will ask the Dickey County Commission next Tuesday to give the go-ahead to use the procedures that have been used for the better part of the last five years; which include no burning when the wild land fire index is in the very high or extreme categories, or when the National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the county.
The public is encouraged to call their local fire department, the Dickey County Sheriff’s office or Russell’s office to report any control burns to avoid any response charges.
