N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Fire Department has released their calls for service between the dates of May 3rd and May 23rd.

The latest report from Jamestown Fire Chief Jim Reuther shows that the department responded to 20 calls in that time. Since the beginning of the year, the department has responded to 118 different cases.

Below is the latest run report that shows the date, times and descriptions of each call:

Call No. 98 May 3rd, 11:23AM, ready squad responded to 2623 Hwy 281 South, Super 8 Motel, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-systems malfunction. Staff was advised to do fire watch until the system reset. Time out 30 minutes.

Call No. 99 May 4th, 9:09AM, ready squad responded to 423 3rd Ave NW, Single family Dwelling, to investigate gas smell. Firefighters checked the structure for a gas smell and detected it coming from the hot water heater. Occupant was advised to have the hot water heater checked by a qualified individual or firm. Time out 15 minutes.

Call No. 100 May 4th, 9:38AM, fire department responded to the area of 23rd Ave NE and 5th St NE, to a report of a natural gas. Firefighters checked the area and stayed on scene until Montana Dakota Utilities gas was shut off. Cause-contractor struck the line. No injuries reported. Time out 25 minutes.

Call No. 101 May 5th, 10:30AM, Stutsman County Dive Team responded to Nickeus Park (James River) to a report of a person possibility in the river. Team searched the river with boats and also used the remote operated vehicle in the search. No person was found. Time out 2 hours 20 minutes.

Call No. 102 May 5th, 11:30PM, ready squad responded to 800 12th Ave NE, Multi Family Dwelling, to check for carbon monoxide. Firefighters analyzed for carbon monoxide and 52 ppm was detected. Advised staff to have the gas fired appliance checked by a qualified person or firm. Cause-battery being charged activated the carbon monoxide alarm, battery charger was unplugged. Time out 55 minutes.

Call No. 103 May 7th, 3:01PM, fire department responded to 1014 15th St SW, to a report of a shed on fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigated. Cause-undetermined. No injuries reported. Time out 1 hour.

Call No. 104 May 10th, 1:15PM, ready squad responded to 112 6th Ave SE, Multi Family Dwelling, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-accidental alarm activation. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 10 minutes.

Call No. 105 May 11th, 10:05AM, ready squad responded to 510 9th Ave SW, Victory Lutheran Church, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-accidental alarm activation. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 20 minutes.

Call No. 106 May 12th, 8:30PM, ready squad responded to 930 25th St SW, Fairfield Inn & Suites, to analyze for chlorine. Firefighters checked the area with a detector, no chlorine was present. Time out 40 minutes.

Call No. 107 May 13th, 7:04AM, ready squad responded to 112 6th Ave SE, Multi family Dwelling, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-moisture activated the fire alarm. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 35 minutes.

Call No. 108 May 14th, 8:14PM, ready squad responded to 210 Lindberg Drive SW, Single Family Dwelling, to check for carbon monoxide. Firefighters analyzed for carbon monoxide and 0 ppm was detected. Cause-faulty detector. Time out 50 minutes.  

Call No. 109 May 15th, 12:55PM, ready squad responded to 317 5th Ave SW, to a report of a smoke smell. Firefighters checked the area and found an illegal burn pit. Resident was requested to extinguish the fire and was given the information on the legal requirements for a burn pit. Time out 20 minutes.

Call No. 110 May 18th, 7:00AM, Stutsman County Dive responded to Missouri River, Ft. Rice Landing, at the request of Morton County Sheriff to assist in helping locate person that may have drowned. Sonar equipment was used to scan the water for missing person, unable to locate missing person. Time out 12 hours and 15 minutes.

Call No. 111 May 19th, 2:35PM, ready squad responded to 1008 15th St SW, to a report of smoke. Firefighters checked the area and found burn pit being used. Occupant was advised that what he was burning was not legal and must extinguish the fire. Cause-trash burning. Time out 20 minutes.

Call No. 112 May 21st, 3:03AM, ready squad responded to 1314 14th St SW, Single Family Dwelling, to check for carbon monoxide. Firefighters analyzed for carbon monoxide and 0 ppm was detected. Cause-faulty detector. Time out 55 minutes.

Call No. 113 May 22nd, 6:00AM, Stutsman County Dive responded to Missouri River, Ft. Rice Landing, at the request of Morton County Sheriff to assist in helping locate person that may have drowned. Call No. 114 May 22nd, 3:20PM, ready squad responded to 2403 Circle Drive, NDSH-GM Building, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-broken sprinkler head activated the alarm. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 25 minutes.

Call No. 115 May 23rd, 7:06PM, ready squad responded 2403 Circle Drive, NDSH-GM Building, to investigate sprinkler alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-air in the fire sprinkler system. Sprinkle system was reset. Time out 25 minutes.

Call No. 116 May 23rd, 5:49PM, ready squad responded to 2501 Circle Drive, NDSH-New Horizon Building, to investigate sprinkler activation alarm. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-accidental alarm activation. Sprinkler system was reset. Time out 35 minutes.

Call No. 117 May 24th, 8:25PM, ready squad responded to 2405 Circle Drive, NDSH-Tompkins Building, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-burnt food. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 25 minutes.

Call No. 118 May 24th, 8:58PM, fire department responded to 1009 4th Ave NE, Single Family Dwelling, to a report of a fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigated. Cause-combustibles left on stove top. No injuries reported. Time out 1 hour.
