CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A group of owners led by SW Design developer Diane Weick and contractor Paul Diegel are building a 43 unit apartment complex just west of the South Central Adult Services garage along east main in Valley City.
A couple of loose ends needed to be tied up today during a special city commission meeting to comply with a city ordinance.
Valley City Administrator David Schelkoph said the developers needed approval for a building over 40 feet high.
The Valley City Commission approved of the motion for SW Design to move forward with their project during a special city commission meeting on May 26th. The following is the audio from that meeting.
City Building Inspector Dave Andersen and Fire Chief Gary Retterath said the proposed building will meet fire code requirements once the four story building is completed. Concrete work on this project could start next week.
Earlier this year, Area Economic Development Director Jennifer Feist said this and other apartment complex construction projects in the city will help fill the demand for more housing in Valley City.
