(NewsDakota.com) The Kindred boys and Milnor-Wyndmere-Lidgerwood girls track and field teams took the top spots in the Class B Southeast Region Track and Field meet over the weekend at Lisbon High.

The Viking boys finished with 121 points, followed by M-W-L (111.5) and Lisbon (92.5). On the track, it was a great day for Lisbon’s Maverick Coleman, as he won the 110 hurdles and the 400 Meter Dash. In the field, Ellendale’s Lucas Hofer qualified for state in the Javelin and Triple Jump.

M-W-L won the girls meet with 127 points, followed by Lisbon (106) and Kindred (87). Oakes’ Laine Awender won the 100 and 200 Meter Dash, Barnes County North’s Lexi Rose was the best in the Pole Vault, and Maple Valley/Enderlin’s Tessa Schroeder was first in the Triple Jump.

The 2017 North Dakota State Class A and B Track and Field Meet is set for Friday and Saturday May 26 and 27 at the MDU Resources Community Bowl in Bismarck. KDDR-AM 1220/95.9 FM and KDAK-AM 1600 will have hourly updates, and NewsDakota.com will list all area athletes who qualify for a final events or place in an event.
