(NewsDakota.com) – The West Region softball tournament begins on Thursday at Trapper Field in Jamestown and the host team made sure they would be around for the weekend with a 13-1 win in the play-in game. Jamestown crushed Turtle Mountain en route to a match up with second-seeded Century on Thursday.
Olivia Nihill drove in three runs and Sydney Soulis hit her third homer in two games to pace the offense. Jamestown won via the 10-run rule by putting up a crooked number in each half inning.
Mandan defeated Williston in the other play-in game by a score of 18-16.
First pitch for Jamestown/Century is scheduled for 3pm at Trapper Field and can be heard on ESPN Jamestown.
