N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Commission moved to postpone sending a letter to the Public Service Commission regarding the April 21st CenturyLink cable cut.

During the May 16th meeting, a drafted letter to the PSC was discussed. Stutsman County Emergency Manager Jerry Bergquist shared some information on the letter.

In the letter, Bergquist highlighted several cuts that had occurred over the past few years. He reports that since CenturyLink has provided service, there have been five different times since 2012 that a cable has been cut.

Bergquist reported that  Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Becky Thatcher-Keller had also been working on a letter to send to the PSC. Bergquist says in the process, Thatcher-Keller had talked with Kent Blickensderfer with CenturLink and said that they would not like any letters sent to the PSC.

Commission Chairman Mark Klose stated that the best idea would be to explore other options rather than file a complaint with the Public Service Commission. The commission voted to not send the letter.
