CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- The defending state champion Packers powered by Valley City with 14-2 and 12-0 wins Tuesday night. The first game was the final of The Hi-Liners EDC schedule, they finish 8-10 in conference play and are in 6th place. Final seeds for the conference tournament will be announced later this week meanwhile The Hi-Liners will play in two non conference games this week. Thursday they host Mandan. 

 

Game 1: West Fargo 14  VCHS 2

The Packers were up 7-0 before Becca Thompson hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 2nd. Thompson drove in another in the 6th when she brought home Emily Murray. Murray along with Kacee White had 2 hits in the game. West Fargo’s Gabby DuBois had 4 RBI. 

Steph Dullum struck out 9 in the complete game win. Thompson was the pitcher of record for Valley City, Hailey Schaefer pitched 4 innings of relief. 

Game 2: West Fargo 12 VCHS 0

Torri Nichols-Kraft scattered 4 hits for West Fargo. McKenna Taylor went 2 for 3 to lead Valley City, Mackenzie Pederson and Emily Murray had hits. Sami Dullum had a home run and plated 3 runs for The Packers. Grace Scherr had a complete game.
