Kan. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown baseball team was eliminated in the NAIA Opening Round tournament today with a 9-5 loss to the host school, Tabor.
Jamestown got on the scoreboard in the first inning when Landon Uetz hit his third home run in the last four games with Nico Kelly onboard. Tabor came back with four runs in the second inning and never trailed again.
The Jimmies started Brad Bennett, who was fresh off his best start of his career when he threw a complete game against Bellevue. He lasted just 1.2 innings before he was lifted.
Chase Thometz went over five in relief.
Jamestown finished their season at 40-22.
