CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown was down to their final at-bats twice in a do-or-die game against No. 2 Bellevue, but both times they found a way. The Jimmies won a 7-6 decision in 10-innings to move onto Tuesday’s NSAA Championship Game.
The game started at 11am and finished at 8:32pm with a five-and-a-half hour rain delay mixed in. The two teams went to the rain delay at 1:01pm tied at four in the bottom of the sixth immediately following a Pete Pennylegion RBI single.
The game finally resumed at 6:30pm. Bellevue pushed across a run in the top of the 9th to take a 5-4 lead. Landon Uetz tied the game with one-out solo home run to straight away center.
Again, the Bruins took the lead in the 10th. However, Jamestown was aided by a Max Dwyer throwing error to tie the game. Nico Kelly delivered a two-out single to score the games winning run.
The Bruins have lost just three times in their last 45 games and all have been to Jamestown.
The Jimmies will play Mayville at 1pm tomorrow in the North Star Championship Game for the conference’s second automatic qualifier to the national tournament.
