N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- After a long string of canceled and postponed events The VCHS Track and Field Team returned to competition Tuesday at The Shanley Meet. Britta Roehrich was The Hi-Liners’ top performer placing in all three events she took part in.

Roehrich was 5th in both the 100 meter hurdles and triple jump; she took 7th in the long jump. Taylor Johnson was 3rd in the pole vault and VeVe Lee 8th in the 100. The relay team of Megan Sorensen, Kennadee Jorissen, Macy Reinhart and VeVe Lee was 10th in the 4×100. Setting personal records were Hailee Peterson in the discus, Amanda Anderson in the discus and Lexi Triebold in the 800.

Nate Rodriguez had the highest finish for the boys’ team with his personal best and 4th place in the shot put. He then teamed with Noah Plagens, Eli Allen and Justin Manson to take 6th in both the 4×100 and 4×200. Manson came in 11th in the 100. Allen was 17th in the long jump and Benton Murray and Jacob Berntson were 10th in the pole vault. Ezra Hanse in the 800 and 1600 and Cade Powers in the shot set new person best.

 Up next for Hi-Liner track and field is a meet in West Fargo Friday afternoon.
