N.D. (VCSUVikings.com)- Valley City State Softball was swept by The University of Jamestown Saturday and Sunday to end their regular season. In their home finale Saturday The Vikings fell 8-1 and 3-1. Sunday the series moved to Jamestown with The Jimmies winning 3-2 and 8-0. With a final record of 10-14 in The NSAA VCSU will get the 6 seed in the conference tournament, they play No.3 and host Dickinson State Friday at 2 central.

Jamestown 8, VCSU 1
The Jimmies had three players double in the top half of the first inning which led to three runs scoring. The Vikings responded in the bottom of the second with a Tatum Lundin solo home run, her seventh of the season. A strong pitching performance and solid defense by the Jimmies would only give up two hits the remainder of the game. Jamestown pushed five more runs across in the fifth, including a grand slam by Miriah Yoder, to seal the win 8-1.
Hanna Dunnigan picked up the win for Jamestown throwing a complete game. Morgan Nalley struck out five for VCSU in the in the loss. Nalley, Lundin, Jayme Menard, and Emily Smith each picked up a hit for the Vikings.
Jamestown had 10 hits in the game, including three by Kelly Halverson. Yoder went 2-for-3 with a run and five RBIs.
Jamestown 3 VCSU 1
Jamestown again opened the scoring in game two pushing across two runs at the top of the first, and added one more in the sixth for its three runs.
VCSU had an opportunity to cut the deficit in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Vikings had the bases loaded but were only able to score one run. Jamestown would hang on and complete the sweep 3-1.
Brittany Rheault pitched a complete game for Jamestown and earned the win after allowing just four hits. Emma Keller led the Jimmie offense with two hits and an RBI.
Ashley Metcalf also pitched a complete seven innings for VCSU striking out two in the loss. Jayme Menard, Tatum Lundin, Kelsey Hamade, and Cassie Pautz each had a hit for the Vikings.
Jamestown 3, VCSU 2
The Vikings struck first Sunday with a pair of runs in the top of the second inning. Tatum Lundin hit a solo home run to start the scoring and then Kelsey Hamade singled home Kadie Anderson for a 2-0 lead.
The Jimmies got one run back in the third inning and then took the lead with a pair of unearned runs in the fifth inning.
VCSU managed six hits in the game, including two rom Kelsey Hamade. Lundin, Anderson, Haley Butterfield and Kelli Moore all had one hit each.
Haley Butterfield started in the circle for VCSU took the hard luck loss. The VCSU junior pitcher allowed just three hit in her six innings of work, and all three runs were unearned. She walked two and struck out eight.

Jamestown completed the sweep with an 8-0 win in game two, scoring in four of the five innings.
VCSU managed just two hits in the game, one each off the bats of Kelsey Hamade and Cassie Pautz.
Kathleen Gallais took the loss for VCSU after going 4 1/3 innings. She allowed 10 hits and six earned runs, walked four and struck out four.
