N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Public School District discussed numerous items during their regular board meeting Monday.
School Resource Officer Andrew Staska completed his first full year and provided his report for his first year of service to the district.
In his report, Officer Staska gave a rundown of different calls for his service.
Officer Staska stated that he has enjoyed his first year. Superintendent Robert Lech thanked Staska for his service, reporting that the district has been very lucky with the SRO program.
Board member Diane Hanson stated that she has appreciated seeing how Staska has remained visible and has been very dedicated to the district.
Lech later gave his superintendent report. In his report, Lech stated that the Most Likely to Succeed Event turned out well.
He also reported that the 21st Century Q&A’s would premiere on the website in the near future.
Vikki Coombs gave an update on the Gearing Up For Kindergarten program, stating that 27 children had participated. The program gets support for the student and parents to transition into the Kindergarten program.
Several finance approvals were held later in the meeting. The School Nursing agreement for services with Central Valley Health Unit was approved by the board at a cost of $40,000 for the 2017-18 year. The Arts Center Agreement for the 2017-18 school year was approved by the board at a cost of $22,500.
