N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—Dalton Jangula provided all the offense Kidder County needed in a 3-2 Region 3 victory over Carrington. Jangula drilled a line drive 2 run homer in the third inning of a scoreless game and drove in the Pirates third run on an RBI single in the fifth inning. Jangula also picked up a save on the mound as he pitched a scoreless 7th inning. Carrington scored both of there runs in the 6th inning after 2 outs, a walk to Jayden Shipman and a run scoring triple from Braxton Hewitt cut the leadto 3-1. Jayden Rosenau followed with an RBI single scoring Hewitt, making it a 3-2. Hewitt was the starting pitcher for the Cardinals and struck out 10 Pirate batters and allowed 4 hits. the Pirates third and final run of the game was unearned, the result of the only error of the game from either team. Kamen Schmidt picked up the pitching victory for the Pirates. Schmidt pitched 6 innings allowing 2 earned runs, 5 hits, 4 strike outs, and walked only 1 batter.

Rosenau had 2 hits for Carrington, the only Cardinal with multiple hits. Jangula was the only Pirate with multiple hits as well with 2. The Pirates improved to 6-3 overall & 3-0 in Region 3 play. Carrington dropped to 2-3 overall and 2-1 in Region 3 play.
