COUNTY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – An Oakes woman was injured following a collision on Highway 1 at the Intersection of Highway 27 Monday morning.

Sgt. Tom Herzig with the North Dakota Highway Patrol says Ty Kirby, 37, of Edmore, MI was traveling on a gravel township road when he failed to yield at the intersection with Highway 1. Kirby crossed in front of a northbound vehicle driven by Mary Miller, 76, of Oakes.

Kirby suffered minor injuries while Miller sustained significant injuries. She was transported to Valley City for medical treatment and later transferred to a Fargo hospital.

There are no charges at this time as the investigation is ongoing. LaMoure Fire and Rescue, Verona Fire and Rescue and the LaMoure County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the incident.
