memorial service for William “Bill” D. Froemke, 86, Litchville, North Dakota will be 2 pm Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at First Lutheran Church, Litchville. Inurnment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Marion, North Dakota. He died Friday, April 21, at the St. Rose Care Center, LaMoure, North Dakota.
William “Bill” Dean Froemke was born November 4, 1930 on the farm near Litchville. He was the son of Robert and Stella (Busche) Froemke. He was baptized and confirmed at Griswold (Trinity) Lutheran Church, rural Litchville. Bill was raised on the farm and attended Spring Creek Elementary country school and graduated from Litchville High School. He was united in marriage to Sheila Stout on December 28, 1953 at First Lutheran Church. They made their home near Litchville operating Froemke Dairy with his family until 1974 when he began fulltime in the farm operation with his son, John, until retiring in 2006.
Some of Bill’s hobbies included gardening, fishing, hunting and woodworking. He especially enjoyed cane carving and driving around in his 1930 Model A.
He was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church.
Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sheila; a son, John & Lori Froemke, Litchville, and their children, Kyle and Logan; two daughters, Holly & Yvan Giralté, Ortonville, Michigan, and their children, Micah and Christian and granddaughter Maddie; and Heather Lindekugel, Tyler, Texas. He is also survived by one brother, Donald & Phyllis Froemke, Castle Rock, Washington; two sisters, Sheree Froemke, and Sandy Sandness, both of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; two sisters-in-law, Georgiann Froemke, Fond du Lac, and Judy Paintner, Cooperstown, North Dakota; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Michael Froemke and Robert Froemke, Jr.
Memorial may be directed to First Lutheran Church, Litchville Fire Department, St. Rose Care Center or CHI Hospice.
