N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Sheyenne Valley Area Career and Technology Center in Valley City sent 21 students to compete at the State Skills USA Competition in Bismarck April 9-11, 2017.
Students competed in a variety of events including Computers, Welding, Automotive Technology, Construction, Health Careers and Commercial Arts. The first place finishers in each event will compete at the National Skills USA Competition in Louisville, KY, June 19-23, 2017.
Placing in the top 3 were:
1st: Erik Johnson, Welding; Tanaya Leifson, Prepared Speech; Ariel Neros, Welding Sculpture, Brittney Pueppke, Nurse Assisting.
2nd: Devin Nelson, Electrical Construction Wiring; Jacob Sand, Automotive Service Technology; Landon Smith, Welding.
3rd: Kaiden Ford, Welding; Terrah Olauson, Job Skill Demo, Shayla Steele, Nurse Assisting.
Also attending the National Skills USA Competition as State Officers are: Jacee Lunde, Emerson Meidinger and Ian Kupitz.
