N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – All five members of the University of Jamestown Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) chapter who attended the North Dakota PBL State Leadership Conference placed in competitions.
Approximately 90 students from North Dakota college chapters participated in this conference, which was held in Grand Forks from March 31 – April 1.
While at the conference, students had the opportunity to attend workshops and tours, as well as a speech from keynote speaker Kyle “Bubba” Schweigert, UND head football coach and University of Jamestown alum. Students also tested their business and technology skills in a variety of individual, team, and chapter competitions. These competitions covered topics like accounting, information management, public speaking, job interview, and networking concepts.
The University of Jamestown did well in the competition, receiving the award for the Largest Percentage of Increase in Chapter Membership. Individual competitors were also awarded. Those who finished in first or second place will be moving on to the National Competition this summer.

In addition to these competitive awards, Grant Christensen was elected State Vice President for Finance and Member Development for the 2017-2018 academic year, and Paul Gibson was named Who’s Who for the year for UJ PBL.
