S.D. (PlayNorthStar.com)- Valley City State University sophomore Seri Geisler was named the NSAA Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday. It is the second time Geisler has earned the honor during the 2017 outdoor seasoin.

North Star Athletic Association Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
Seri Geisler – Valley City State (N.D.) – Sophomore – Grand Rapids, Minn. – Geisler recorded the nation’s top throw this season in NAIA women’s javelin as she set new meet and facility records at the Al Bortke Open for Valley City State (N.D.).  Her mark of 49.79 meters (163 feet, 4 inches) won the event by more than 50 feet and broke the old meet record and the Bismarck Community Bowl facility record by more than 10 feet.  Geisler also added a third-place in women’s shot put with a throw of 12.97 meters (42 feet, 6.75 inches) and set a new personal record in hammer throw by more than 15 feet (112 feet, 9 inches).
