CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Voters living in the Maple Valley School District will decide a school bond issue on April 25th.

A ‘Voter Education Meeting’ will be held tonight at 7:00pm inside the Maple Valley High School in Tower City.

Superintendent Brian Wolf said the measure asks patrons to support a $14.3 million dollar school bond issue that would shut-down two schools in the district and pay for an addition and renovation of the existing structure in Tower City.

A special election will be April 25th inside the Tower City Community Center from 7am to 7pm.

In September of 2016, voters narrowly defeated the referendum as those who supported it voted 59.76 percent in favor. Under state law, 60 percent or more is needed to pass.
This is the fourth attempt by the Maple Valley school district to pass a referendum to consolidate the district into one building.
