CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City 3rd Graders Colin Hoff and Brenna Storly were named Mayor for the Day after both were selected as having the best answer to the question: What would you do if you were the mayor?

Colin Hoff was named Mayor for the Day and Brenna Storly was named the runner up Mayor for the Day during a regular city commission meeting on April 4th.

The City of Valley City invited third grade students to participate in “Mayor for a Day” contest. The winner, Colin Hoff, and runner-up Brenna Storly helped conduct the April 4 City Commission meeting. Their entries and others are posted in City Hall and Public Works hallways.

Mayor Carlsrud said, “I am excited to partner with the local schools to provide these opportunities for our young people to become more informed about city government.”
