N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High baseball and softball teams were in action on Tuesday night. The baseball team was at Mandan, while the softball team traveled to Legacy.

The baseball team lost their opening game against Mandan, 3-0 before coming back to win the second game 8-1. For the Jays, it was their first game on the year. They got halfway to Williston on Friday before learning the game would be postponed because of weather.

Ben Friebel got the win allowing just one run on three hits. The Jays are at St. Mary’s on Friday.

The softball team took a tough 13-3 loss in the first game. They were able to rally back to win game two, 9-8. Eighth-grader Payton Gall got her third win of the season in the second game. Freshman Alex Nihill closed the door for the same.

They are at home on Thursday against Minot and the first game of the doubleheader will be on ESPN Jamestown beginning at 4:30pm.
