CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Sheyenne Valley Friends of Animals spokeswoman Pam Erickson filed this report concerning the organization and the upcoming annual spaghetti feed and auction.

Erickson said, I’m going to remind you one more time to mark your calendars for the Debbie Miller Wags & Whiskers Spaghetti Feed and Auction.  Come out to the Eagles Club on Saturday, April 15th and for $5 per person, you can have all you can eat spaghetti, and then stay for the Norwegian Raffle, 50/50 Raffle and Cake Walk.

We’d like to thank everyone who has helped with this event! We’ve had a number of businesses and individuals step up and donate, and we can always use more!  Interested in making a cake or cupcakes for the Cake Walk?  How about making a nice basket for the Norwegian Raffle?  Or, just interested in coming out to eat spaghetti?  That’s great, too!  Donations can be dropped off with any board or committee member.

With spring comes many things to remember, time to get heart worm, flea and tick protection started, start cleaning up the yard and to get your pet’s license!  All dogs and cats in Valley City need licenses!  Licenses are for two years and begin April 1st of this year.  Just stop down to the Police Department with your pet’s rabies certificate and $15, and they’ll get you the license!  These license fees not only guarantee that pets in Valley City will have updated rabies vaccines, but will also help with fees incurred by the local pound.  For more info on pet licenses, contact the PD at 845-3110.

We still have a couple of great cats up for adoption:

We can’t understand why our little Phoebe is still with us!  She’s a great cat – she’s laid back and absolutely beautiful.  Phoebe would love somewhere she can watch the birds out the window, and she’s great with other cats and does fine with dogs.  Interested in a year old black furred beauty?  Phoebe is your gal!

Sully is also with us in a great foster home. Sully is mostly blind – although we’re not exactly sure what is causing his blindness – and once he settled into his foster home he’s a very nice cat.  He does well with other cats and dogs and enjoys attention.  Sully is a bobbed tail, medium hair gray cat.  And, would love a great forever home!

I’ll close by saying this will be my news release as the secretary/treasurer of the Sheyenne Valley Friends of Animals. It’s been a wonderful 10 years, but it’s time for me to pass the torch. I’m looking forward to getting some projects done that I’ve been putting off, but to also continue volunteering with SVFA from a non-official position. I’d like to send a big Thank You to the board, as well as everyone who has helped make SVFA what it is today!

Jenni Richman, Board member and Lost & Found Committee Chair (jenni.svfa@gmail.com) has agreed to take over my position.

Sincerely

Pam Erickson
