N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – With implementation of recycling for the community in Jamestown, the City Beautification Committee is taking time to help prepare residents with several planned informational sessions.
With “Pay as You Throw” recycling, several items including landfill trash billing and rates will be discussed. The City Beautification Committee is part of the Chamber of Commerce. Becky Thatcher-Keller says the meetings will be free for the public.
Committee member Joan Morris reports that several education sessions are planned. They include:
• April 20, 2017 – 7:00 PM – Univ. of Jamestown: Unruh-Sheldon Building Room 134
• April 22, 2017 – 10:00 AM – Home and Garden Show – Civic Center • April 23, 2017 – 2:00 PM – Home & Garden Show – Civic Center
• May 3, 2017 – 9:00 AM – City Hall
• May 8, 2017 – 6:30 PM – Alfred Dickey Library
• May 15, 2017 – 7:00 PM – City Hall
• May 26, 2017 – 12:00 Noon – City Hall
• June 3, 2017 – 1:00 PM – City Hall
• June 5, 2017 – 1:00 PM – James River Senior Center
• June 8, 2017 – 7:00 PM – City Hall
• June 12, 2017 – 5:00 PM – James River Senior Center
“One session will be recorded and shown over local stations,” Morris states in a release. “These meetings will use a power point presentation explaining in detail the programs. Recycling and landfill trash carts will be available for public viewing. Current and proposed garbage rates will be discussed.”
