N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown Public Schools Superintendent Robert Lech has been focusing time on school building needs and conditions.
Lech says that a report done by DLR group in 2014 has been used to determine which repairs and maintenance are needed in the next 10 years.
The summary provided to the School Board showed that all buildings have been well maintained, but many systems were nearing end of life or need updating to current standards.
Lech reports that there is a capital maintenance bubble for the school district right now. He says in the next 3 to 5 years, additional funding will be needed.
The Jamestown Public Schools are inviting the community to join discussion on needed improvements for the schools. A Citizen’s Steering Committee has been created, focus groups are being held and board is constantly focused on the districts needs.
Updates on progress will be provided regularly to local media, posted on the JPS website, school newsletters and through social media. For more information, visit www.jamestown.k12.nd.us
