N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Police Department had a quiet day while assisting in the 39th Annual Runnin O’ The Green.

Jamestown Police Chief Scott Edinger reports that only 20 arrests were made during the run. Of those 20, 12 were for unlawful possession of an alcoholic beverage, two urinating in public, and two drug arrests.

Other citations included littering, minor in consumption of alcohol, disorderly conduct, and DUI.

“Three welfare checks were conducted on intoxicated persons,” Chief Edinger reports. “Two were taken to the JRMC for extreme alcohol intoxication and one was committed to NDSH for drug related intoxication.”

Over 1,700 runners from all over participated in the annual pub crawl this year.

Other years have been more hectic for local law enforcement. In 2014, the department reported that 86 total arrests were made and in 2013, 65 arrests were made.

Run organizer Larry Knoblich reports that in 2016, two different cases of public fornication were reported. Individuals were fined $500 each.
