N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – In its roughly 40 years in Jamestown, the James River Figure Skating Club has never had a scholarship fund for those who wanted to join.
Thanks to their largest fundraiser ever, the club now has to ability to do so.
In 2016, the JRFSC held a car raffle that raised over $20,000, all of which was put into a scholarship fund for future members.
Judy Jorgenson is the Vice President of the club and says the scholarship is something the club has wanted to put together for a long time.
Jorgenson says they will also be holding their first ever open house on April 2nd at Wilson Arena.
The first open house will be for two hours and give residents a chance to learn more about the club and skating in general. For more information, visit the clubs website or Facebook page.
