N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Some homes in the Southwest part of Jamestown needed to be evacuated after a person drove into a yard, striking a resident and a natural gas meter Wednesday night.

According to a police report, homes were evacuated in a one block area of the home due to a gas leak. MDU crews were called to shut off gas to the area while emergency personnel responded.  The individual reportedly struck by the vehicle was transported by the Jamestown Ambulance to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

58 year-old Karen Kinzler of Jamestown was arrested and is being held at the Stutsman County Correctional Center on suspicion of domestic assault in connection with the incident. Names and addresses are not released under Marsy’s Law.

The incident remains under investigation.
