“Dick” Heroux, 77, of Valley City, ND died at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND on March 11, 2017 with his family at his side. A memorial service for Dick will be held at the Lerud-Schuldt-Mathias Funeral Home Chapel in Valley City on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will begin an hour prior to the service there.
Richard Lee Heroux was born March 5, 1940 in Minneapolis, MN to Irving and Pearl (Swart) Heroux. Dick was employed for a time with Honeywell.
On July 2, 1960, Dick married Jacqueline Borgeson. In the early 1970’s, Dick and Jackie moved to Valley City, ND where he worked for Jack’s Standard and Geisler Implement. They also ran the taxi service in town prior to the senior bus service. For 20 years, Dick had his own business, Hero’s Car Clean.
Dick was truly a family man and following his retirement, he was able to devote even more time to his granddaughters. He will be missed by those that survive him, his wife, Jackie; son, Paul; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Scott Limesand; granddaughters, Ashley and Laura Limesand; along with his sister-in-law and her husband, Karen and Ray Smedshammer; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kenneth Heroux; a sister, Arlene Mattson and her husband, Calvin.
