N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The James River Figure Skating Club will be holding their 40th Annual Ice Show on March 17th, 18th, and 19th at Wilson Arena in Jamestown.
The event has been a longstanding part of the community, allowing club skaters to display their hard work and put on a show. Vice President of the club Judy Jorgenson says the show is sort of a signal to the end of the groups skating season.
Over 40 kids participate in the skate club, which has had a stellar season in 2016. Jorgenson reports that in competition as a whole, the club received 22 bronze medals, 35 silver, and 49 gold. She stated that overall, 128 medals have been received by their 14 competitors.
The theme for the show this year is The Great Outdoors. Mark Vasarhelyi has been coaching the club for the last 20 years and says the annual show will be great entertainment for everyone.
Senior hockey players will be involved with the show as well, assisting with some of the numbers. Tickets will be $8 for adults, $6 for students and elementary children have already received a free ticket to attend.
The show will also be a fundraiser for the group to help will ice maintenance cost and other expenses. The event is being hosted and put together by an all volunteer team.
