(NDHSAA.COM)-Make it three in a row for Minot’s boys basketball team.The Magicians defeated Bismarck Century 56-42 on Saturday, March 11 during the championship game of the North Dakota High School Activities Association Class A State Tournament at the Bismarck Event Center.
Minot has now won three straight Class A state championships. They are the first team to win three Class A titles in a row since Bismarck (1957-59).Century led 23-20 at halftime, but the Magicians rallied in the second half shooting 41 percent from the field.Minot was led by senior KyJaun Johnson who scored 21 points.The Magicians finish the season 25-2.

It didn’t take the Bismarck Legacy girls basketball team long to make a name for itself.Saturday, March 11 the Sabers defeated three-time defending state champion Fargo Shanley 52-50 in the championship game of the North Dakota High School Activities Association Class A State Tournament at the Bismarck Event Center.
Bismarck Legacy is in its second year as a varsity program and in that short window of time it has won the state’s ultimate prize.Legacy held a narrow 20-19 advantage at halftime but extended its lead in the second half. With seven minutes, 55 seconds Legacy led 41-28 and was 45-36 with just under four minutes remaining.
Shanley stormed back and took a 47-46 lead with 1:32 left to play after Reile Payne got a layup to fall.Legacy regained the lead seconds later and never looked back.The Sabers were led by senior center Brita Feland who scored 17 points and added 10 rebounds.Payne led the Deacons with 16 points.Legacy finishes the year 20-7.
