N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The brief, Spring-like reprieve from the winter season is about to end this weekend.

The Bismarck National Weather Service has released their forecast with a Winter Advisory in effect for a majority of the state. According to the NWS, a round of accumulating snow will spread across the northwest into central North Dakota beginning tonight and continuing into early Monday Morning.

“Snow amounts of 4 to 6 inches with isolated 7 inch amounts are forecast from Williston to Minot, and south through Bismarck and Ashley to Ellendale,” the NWS reports.

In addition to the falling snow, areas of blowing snow will reduce visibilities at times to a half mile during the afternoon hours on Sunday. Lesser mounts of snow are expected across the far north central and far southwest where only 1 to 3 inches are expected.
