N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Stutsman County students in grades 6 through 8 will get a chance to learn more about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Careers during the annual TechSavvy and Stemtastic events today.

TechSavvy was originally called “Broadening Your Horizons” and was later dropped due to participation issues. AAUW then picked the event up and has held it nationwide ever since. Jill Schlenker is a member of AAUW Jamestown.

Because the TechSavvy event is primarily focused on girls and STEM, Valley City State University has pitched in to do one for the boys called Stemtastic. Schlenker pointed out that they’ve also invited several area schools to attend this year.

The event is only one of 23 across the US and is free for all students. You can find more information by contacting AAUW Jamestown on their website or by calling Jill Schlenker at 701-320-3907.
