N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Commission met Tuesday afternoon to discuss several items of business.

The commission heard the latest from County Highway Superintendent Mickey Nenow, who reported that county road restrictions have been put into place. Nenow also updated the commission on recent hires and preparations for spring.

Stutsman County Auditor Casey Bradley stated that the County Officials Academy had met Monday and discussion was held concerning the closure of the eight state highway department shops. He says the state will look at numerous options to address the issue.

Commission Chairman Mark Klose expressed concerns of already having to serve the surrounding area and then being required to assist the state. Bradley stated that this was just one of several avenues that were being explored and for the council to be aware that they may be contacted in the future.

Klose later brought up support for the proposed entrepreneur center at the University of Jamestown.

The group asked for the County Commissioners support on the project in order to receive some grant funding for the project. The commission unanimously approved.
