(NewsDakota.com)- Valley City High School senior Nate Rodriguez was named to The 2017 EDC All Conference Team. Rodriguez finished the season 17.7 ppg, 4.6 rebounds, 4.2 assist and 1.5 steals. In a game against Fargo South on February 23rd he surpassed 1,000th career points. Rodriguez is 4th all time in scoring in VCHS history.

Siman Sem of Fargo North was voted Senior Athlete of The Year, Davies’ Bart Manson was Coach of The Year and  Mark Rerick of Grand Forks AD of The Year. On the girls side, Wahpeton’s Tylee Irwin was Player of the Year and Brian Watson Coach of The Year.

Davies beat Sheyenne 89-74 to claim The EDC Boys Championship.West Fargo topped Devils Lake 66-60 and Shanley beat Red River 76-69 to earn the conferences other 2 bids.

The Shanley Girls’ won their 5th straight EDC Title after beating Davies 60-47. Devils Lake earned a spot in the tournament after getting a GF Central 62-46. Wahpeton topped Sheyenne 55-41 to earn the conference’s final spot.
