CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The gun bill for school districts in North Dakota was discussed again during the District 24 Legislative Form on Saturday in Valley City.
The bill is sponsor by Representative Dwight Kiefert and he told the audience he feels it’s important to give rural schools the option being law enforcement response time to get to the school is a half hour or more.
State Senator Larry Robinson discuss the challenges of implementing the Medical Marijuana law that passed in November of 2016. He said there are federal legal issues also associated with implementing the law, but lawmakers and the Department of Health are doing their best to make the distribution safe and legal in North Dakota.
Local Economic Development Director Jennifer Feist urged lawmakers to support the extension of the Renaissance Zone tax credit. She and other of said it’s an incentive for developers to build new businesses on idle property in the city and county.
