CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A Valley City man and two men from West Fargo face felony charges after they allegedly walked into a Valley City residence and assaulted a man on December 26th of 2016.

Barnes County States Attorney Carl Martineck said, 24 year-old Alexandre Lewis Johnson of West Fargo, 21 year-old Reed Hawkens Beckman of West Fargo and 19 year-old Levi Hunter Hannig of Valley City are each charged with one count of Burglary (B Felony) and one count of Aggravated Assault (C Felony).

The three allegedly walked into an unlocked residence on 5th Street Northwest in Valley City and assaulted a 23-year-old male who owed Beckman $60.

According to Court documents, Johnson and Beckman were carrying wrenches and Hannig was carrying a metal pipe when the three entered the residence. The victim of the assault was treated for injuries and released.

The defendants were arrested on December 28, 2016, and released from jail after posting $500 bond. All three defendants waived their preliminary hearings on February 14 and entered not guilty pleas. A trial has not been scheduled. If convicted, the maximum penalty is 10 years’ imprisonment and/or a fine of $20,000.

Hannig and Beckman are brothers. Beckman and Johnson are roommates and reside in West Fargo.

Public records indicate Beckman is currently on unsupervised probation pursuant to an Order Deferring Imposition of Sentence, after pleading guilty last July to Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver, a Class B Felony.
