FORKS (NewsDakota.com)- EKM couldn’t hold on to their early lead as No 2 Kindred pressed their way to a 56-41 win in the 1st round of The Class B Girls’ Basketball State Tournament. The Rebels out rebounded The Vikings 7-1 in the 1st quarter and lead 14-9. Kindred forced two quick turnovers in the 2nd period and with 4 minutes left in the half took the lead. They outscored EKM 22-5 and went into halftime up 31-19 and would not fall behind the rest of the game.

Kindred’s defense forced 19 turnovers with 6 steals. The Rebels’ Katie Entzi had a double double of 14 points and 10 rebounds. Allison Geisler had 10 points and Taylor Mathern 9.The Vikings had 3 in double figured lead by Madison Erickson with 16 points. EKM shot 42% and Kindred 48%.
