N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Mandan got another monster night from Mackensi Higlin to beat Jamestown for the second time in 10 days. The Braves lone senior and future Jimmie scored 27 points to push her team to the WDA semifinals, 74-60.
Jamestown trailed by seven when Bailey Lamp’s three points glanced off the back rim and lead to a Mandan fast break layup. It was a five-point swing that Jays couldn’t recover from.
The Braves lead most of the way with the exception of a three minute stretch in the first half when the lead changed hands four times. Mandan sophomore Megan Zander was a point short of a double-double at halftime, she finished with 17 rebounds.
Lamp lead the Jays with 18. Megan Gaffaney added 14. The loss drops Jamestown to a loser-out game on Friday night against Minot. The Jays have won both against Minot. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:15pm.
