(NewsDakota.com) – The Owls of Oregon Tech had not won a game in the NAIA national tournament in women’s basketball until they edged the second-seeded Jimmies in a late night game last year.
The game was scheduled to be played at 9:15pm, but didn’t start until close to 10pm. The Owls used a late run to win, 71-64.
Jamestown will play Oregon Tech again in the opening round when the two teams return to Sioux City next week. The game will be at 1:45pm on Wednesday afternoon at the Tyson Event Center.
The Owls were beaten handily in the Cascade Conference tournament when they were dropped by Eastern Oregon, 70-41. Jamestown is coming off their third straight NSAA title on Sunday where they beat VCSU by nine.
Dickinson State and VCSU both made the field. The Hawks drew a No. 6 seed and will battle Eastern Oregon in the opening round on Wednesday night at 9:15pm. The Vikings are a No. 7 seed and will open with Southeastern (FL) at 8:30am Thursday.
You can listen to the Jimmies on Wednesday afternoon at 1:45pm on ESPN Jamestown.
