N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Residents have until March 15th to remove their ice houses, but Game & Fish warns that you might want to do it sooner than that.
The state Game & Fish Department reports that some ice conditions have already begun to deteriorate, especially in the Southern and Western portions of North Dakota. State law requires permanent ice house be removed by March 15th, but Biologist Doug Leier says residents may need to consider removing them now.
The department says anglers should watch the weather and adjust their activities accordingly. Residents are also advised to use caution when accessing the area lakes due to unstable ice conditions making ice house removal dangerous.
