Meanwhile, load restrictions are also in place for city streets in Valley City.

Truckers need to know that each overloaded truck needs a permit, which can be obtained from the Valley City Police Department. Cost of the permit is $25.00. The permits will allow exceptions, 20,000 lbs/axle, for truck route and main street. All other streets and avenues, 12,000 lbs/axle. The speed limit for loaded trucks with permits is 10 miles per hour.

And just one more reminder for motorists that the Faust Dam Bridge is closed for reconstruction. Barnes County Highway Superintendent Kerry Johnson said the bridge and a portion of the Barnes County Road 17 will be closed until the project is completed sometime in August.
