N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Eastern Dakota Conference Instrumental Small Group Ensemble Contest Results for Valley City High School.
On Wednesday, February 15th, 2017, the Valley City High School band students competed in the EDC small group ensemble contest at Fargo South High School.
Valley City entered 11 groups. Ratings received by Valley City High School were 4 II’s (good), 4 I’s (excellent) 3 region stars (superior) and 1 state star (state superior)
Results from the EDC contest are as follows:
II’s – Senior Mixed Woodwind Duet, Varsity Saxophone Trio, Senior Saxophone Sextet and Varsity Trombone Duet I’s – Varsity Flute Ensemble, VarsityTrumpet Quartet, Varsity Brass Ensemble, and Varsity Saxophone Sextet.
Region Stars – Senior Brass Ensemble (Breana Buringrud, Jacob Sand, David Opdahl, Jack Jordan, Tiffany Schneider, Erik Johnson), Varsity Clarinet Duet (Rachael Couture and Eliza Johnson) and Senior Saxophone Quartet (Taylor Johnson, Lexi Ondracek, Jenessa Noeske and Angela Larson).
State Star – Senior Brass Ensemble (Breana Buringrud, Jacob Sand, David Opdahl, Jack Jordan, Tiffany Schneider, Erik Johnson).
