CITY (NewsDakota.com)- The Bruins of Fargo South spoiled Valley City’s final home game of the season Thursday night. Nate Rodriguez scored his 1000th career point in a 78-71 loss for the boys. The Bruins edged Valley City 60-54 in the girls contest. EDC play ins are Saturday, the 10th seeded girls travel to no.7 West Fargo Sheyenne at 6:00. The boys face Fargo South again for a 9 vs 8 seed, tipoff is set for 5:30. Pregame begins at 5:15 on KOVC and NewsDakota.com

Valley City Senior Nate Rodriguez scored 24 points for The Hi-Liner to surpass 1,000 for his career as a Hi-Liner. Levi Nix was the game’s lead scorer with 29 points, 23 came in the 2nd half. Drew Oberlander collected 10 for Valley City.

Valley City had 3 in double figures but couldn’t get their first home win of the season. Taryn Dieterle led The Hi-Liners with 12 points with Grace Scherr and Mackenzie Pederson each adding 10.
