(NewsDakota.com) – Both games were close in the first half, but Mandan was able to pull away in the second half to secure season ending victories. 

GBB: Mandan 74, Jamestown 56

Jamestown was slicing the Mandan’s 1-3-1 zone in the first half and entered the break tied at 38. The Braves switched to a man-t0-man in the second half and used that to jump out on a 22-4 run. Mackensi Higlin lead the Braves with 23 and Megan Zander added 21. 

The Jays and Braves will meet again on March 2nd in the first round of the WDA tournaments at 7:30pm in the Exhibit Hall of the Bismarck Events Center. 

BBB: Mandan 73, Jamestown 61

Trae Steckler is No. 2 in the WDA in scoring, but it was his brother Cam who was the early offensive threat for the Braves. He lead Mandan with 23 points. Trey Wiest, making his return to Jamestown added 17. 

The Braves lead 45-35 midway through the first half when Boden Skunberg shook off the rust of missing the last two games scoring 10 of 12 points for the Jays in a 12-0 run to give Jamestown the lead. He finished with 16. Mason Walters and John Horgan each had 14. 

The Jays will be the No. 10 seed in the WDA playoffs and will have to play-in to get the WDA tournament. The details of that game are not finalized yet.
