(NewsDakota.com)——The Carrington Cardinals run at three consecutive team dual titles ended Friday afternoon in the Fargo Dome as number 1 seed Lisbon defeated Carrington (4 seed) 37-30 in the state semifinals. Lisbon won 8 of the 14 matches to secure the victory for the Broncos. Carrington defeated Lisbon in the 2016 state dual championship 57-12.

The Cardinals defeated Velva (5 seed) 53-28 in the opening round of the dual tournament. The Cards opened the match up with 5 straight pins and led 30-0 before the Aggies started to right there ship a little bit. The Aggies would get within 36-28 before the Cards scored the final 17 points and secured the 25 point victory. Carrington won 9 of the 14 matches.

Carrington defeated Bishop Ryan (3 seed) in the third place match 45-28.  The Cardinals won 8 of 14 matches to earn the third place victory. The dual was highlighted by top seeded Bradee Schroeder’s (285) match with Bishop Ryan’s top seeded 220 pounder Jordan Will, Will defeated Schroeder 5-3, but the Cards took home third place.

Second seeded Hettinger-Scranton defeated Lisbon in the championship match 31-30.
