(NewsDakota.com) 37 minutes of penalties and allowing two goals in the waining minutes of the second period proved to contributing factors in the Jamestown High School boys hockey season coming to an end Friday with a 3-2 loss to Williston in loser-out play of the WDA Tournament.
Jamestown committed a five minute major for checking from behind which lead to a Coyote powerplay goal in the first period. The Jays tied the game early in the second period with a tally from Braden Sherfy, but Williston scored twice in less than a minute to take a 3-1 lead into the third period. In the third, Jamestown picked up a goal from Baylee Hatlewick to pull within one, but in spite of pulling an extra skater late, wasn’t able to tie the game.
Jamestown goaltender Matthew Schneider had 26 saves on 29 shots.
