ROCKFORD, N.D.  (NewsDakota.com)  Day two of the Class B District 7 Girls Basketball Tourney started Saturday afternoon at New Rockford High School.  Here are the results:

Dakota Prairie 50 Lakota 25 (Elimination game)

Senior Point Guard Emma Poehls scored 16 points, including three 3-pointers to help keep the season alive for the Knights as they beat the Raiders in the first game Saturday afternoon.  Sophomore Paige Haakenson had 10 points as well for the Knights.  Leading the way for the Raiders was Juniors Stephanie Bartlett and Breanne Schmidt with eight each.  DP improves to 7-14 overall and will play at 4pm Monday for a chance at the Region 4 Tourney in Devils Lake, Lakota ends their season at 0-21.

Warwick 61  Four Winds/Minnewaukan 51  (semifinal)

Harvey/Wells County 49  Benson County 38  (semifinal)

In a game that featured twelve lead changes and six ties, the Hornets survive the Wildcats and move into the District 7 Championship game on Monday night.  For the Hornets , they were led by Sophomore Jaye Fike with 17 points, including three 3-pointers.  Senior Kari Wolfe had 15 points, including her 1,000th career point in the fourth quarter.  Sophomore McKayla Jones added 12.  For the Wildcats, Danielle Schwanke had 19, including three 3-pointers.  The Wildcats had the lead by three going into the fourth quarter, but the Hornets made some crucial free throws down the stretch, going eight of eight at the line in the fourth quarter and 12 of 17 for the game.

4pm – No. 6 Dakota Prairie vs.  No. 5 Four Winds/Minn. (Region 4 qualifier) 

530pm – No. 4 New Rockford/Sheyenne vs. No. 3 Benson County  (Region 4 qualifier)

7pm – RV No. 1 Warwick vs. No. 2 Harvey/Wells County  (championship) (both qualify for Region 4 Tourney in Devils Lake starting Feb. 20)

All games will be on the Raven 103.1 FM and newsdakota.com starting about 3:45pm on Monday, 4pm tipoff.
